Equality & rule of law two guiding principles of State of Medina: Allama Idrees Qadri

Senior MQI leader Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees Qadri has said that the model of the State of Medina remains incomparable even today despite the passage of the fourteen centuries. He said that the problems and challenges facing humanity today can only be overcome by implementing the principles that formed the State of Medina. He said that the Constitution of Medina City was the best legal document that gives primacy to unity and equality of all before the law. He said that the Holy Prophet (pbuh) fostered unity and harmony among the followers of different religions, communities and faith. He (SAW) worked out a system of rights and duties that gave dignity to the common man.

Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees Qadri made these remarks while addressing a Friday congregation in Jamy Shaykh-ul-Islam in Model Town. He said that an effective way of eradicating extremism and sectarianism from society lies in taking guidance from the State of Medina, for the Constitution of Medina taught people equality and majesty of law. He said that there was absolutely no space for violation of the rule of law and everyone, no matter who he was, submitted to the supremacy of law. He said that the Holy Prophet (SAW) bridged the gulf between the rich and the poor and treated them equally.

Allama Idrees Qadri said that the nations get destroyed due to injustice. He said that whosoever supports the status quo actually violates the guiding principles of the Holy Quran and Sunnah. He said that the Constitution of Medina treated everyone equally and there was no provision of any superior treatment for anyone.
