President Hotel Association Kalam Dr Abdul Wadood telephonically spoke to MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur and said that the tourists stranded in the hotels in Kalam due to the flood situation are no longer their clients but guests. He said that they are being treated as guests as per the Pakhtoon traditions. He said that unless the flood situation eases and the roads are rehabilitated, the Association would continue to provide them food and residence. He said that as the top office-holder, he has issued instructions to all owners of the hotels.
Dr Abdul Wadood said that the people of Kalam have started disposing off the food water on their self-help basis, adding that the process would be completed in a week’s time.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur praised empathy and the spirit of sacrifice and said that Islam has taught its followers to help their brothers and sisters facing need and hardship. He said that it is our prayer to Allah to help the suffering humanity overcome the present ordeal.
