On the blessed Day of Ashura, Minhaj-ul-Quran International Walsall held a spiritually profound and emotionally resonant event titled Mehfil Zikr Hussain (A.S), bringing together esteemed Ulama from across Walsall to commemorate the eternal legacy of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S). The program served as a unifying platform to reflect on the values of sacrifice, justice, and unwavering faith, while reinforcing the core teachings of the Quran and Sunnah.
The gathering was graced by the honorable presence of GM Malik, Principal Secretary to Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, whose participation added distinction to the occasion.
The event commenced with a heartfelt recitation of the Holy Quran by Abdullah Mohy ud Din, which set a deeply reverent tone. This was followed by a soulful Naat and Manqabat-e-Ahl-e-Bayt (A.S), beautifully rendered by renowned nasheed artist Adil Rashid Sahib, whose voice elevated the spiritual atmosphere and moved the hearts of all present.
A series of impactful speeches by eminent scholars highlighted the lessons of Imam Hussain’s (A.S) martyrdom and its relevance in contemporary times. The speakers emphasized themes of unity, resistance against oppression, and the importance of standing for truth and justice, values embodied by Imam Hussain (A.S) in Karbala.
Hafiz Allama Muhammad Aqeel stressed the importance of remaining firmly attached to the Quran and Sunnah in today’s divisive world and called for Muslim unity as a shield against rising global challenges.
Allama Muhammad Masoom spoke passionately about how the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) spiritually prepared Imam Hussain (A.S) for the trial of Karbala, underlining his moral strength and spiritual resilience.
Allama Muhammad Saeed offered deep reflections on the elevated status of Imam Hussain (A.S) through the lens of Allama Iqbal’s poetry, linking historical legacy with philosophical wisdom.
Shaykh Abu Adam Al-Shirazi expanded on the significance of Youm-e-Ashura, emphasizing its universal message across world religions—justice, truth, and moral courage.
Allama Dr. Ali Akbar addressed the urgent need for Muslim solidarity in the face of global socio-political injustices, asserting that the message of Karbala is one of unyielding resistance to tyranny.
