Addressing the Friday congregation at Jamy Shaykh-ul-Islam, Model Town, Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees, Deputy Secretary-General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, said that the life of this world is temporary and perishable, while the life of the Hereafter is eternal and everlasting. A person should devote every moment of his life to attaining success in the Hereafter.
He stated that the glitter and wealth of this world may provide temporary comfort, but true salvation lies only in faith, righteous deeds, and piety. Quoting several verses from the Holy Qur’an and Prophetic traditions (Ahadith), he reminded the congregation that death can come at any moment; therefore, a believer must constantly hold himself accountable for his deeds.
Allama Idrees said that one who remembers the Hereafter lives with justice, honesty, love, and goodwill in this world. He further stated that every soul shall taste death, and its appointed time cannot be delayed. The decree of death lies in the hands of Allah alone; however, the nature of its taste—sweet or bitter—depends on a person’s own actions. Good deeds, he explained, make the taste of death sweet, while evil deeds make it exceedingly bitter.
He added that death is an unchangeable reality, and that the entire mission of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was to make the eternal life of the Hereafter blissful for humankind. Unfortunately, he lamented, today our attention is confined to the comforts of this temporary world. He urged believers to awaken from the slumber of heedlessness and prepare provisions for the life of the Hereafter.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, and President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, offered Friday prayers at Jamy Shaykh-ul-Islam and met with delegations who had arrived from various cities.
