A delegation of writers and researchers from Halqa Arbab-e-Zauq (Registered) met with Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri at Minhaj University Lahore. The delegation included Ijaz Rizvi (President of Halqa Arbab-e-Zauq), Ali Nawaz Shah (Secretary), Professor Shafiq Ahmad Khan (Senior Vice President), Farhat Abbas Shah (Vice President), and other distinguished literary figures.
On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Sajid Mahmood Shahzad, Barrister Aamir Hassan (senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party), Dr. Asad Mahmood Khan (Head, Department of Urdu), and faculty members were also present.
The honorable members of Halqa Arbab-e-Zauq attended a literary gathering titled “Behr-e-Mulaqat” organized by the School of Urdu, Minhaj University Lahore. The chief guest of the event was Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Governors of Minhaj University Lahore and President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International.
In his address, Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that literature is a powerful medium for the intellectual and cultural development of nations. Poets and writers play a fundamental role in shaping the moral and intellectual tendencies of society.
He further stated that Minhaj University is utilizing all its resources to promote research, criticism, and creative thought, as collaboration between literary institutions strengthens emerging intellectual trends.
Speaking at the event, Professor Shafiq Ahmad Khan appreciated the academic standards and research-friendly environment of Minhaj University. He said that Minhaj University has always promoted tolerance, inquiry, and positive values, which are essential for building a bright and peaceful Pakistan.
Farhat Abbas Shah, while expressing his views, said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri’s late father, Dr. Farid-ud-Din Qadri (RA), authored the literary masterpiece “Safarnama”, which broadened the horizons of thought and art.
On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Halqa Arbab-e-Zauq (Registered) and Minhaj University Lahore, aiming to enhance academic collaboration between faculty members and students in the fields of creativity, criticism, and research.
The delegation also visited the Digital Robotic Library and Resource Centre, the Shaykh-ul-Islam Institute of Spiritual Studies, and other academic and administrative departments, praising the university’s world-class infrastructure and facilities.
At the conclusion of the event, members of Halqa Arbab-e-Zauq, along with writers and researchers, presented their publications to Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri as a token of appreciation. The ceremony ended with the cutting of a cake to celebrate Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri’s birthday
