Awami Tajir Ittehad hosted a special reception in honor of the newly elected office-bearers of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, including Patron-in-Chief of PIAF Mian Anjum Nisar and Chamber President Faheem ur Rehman Sehgal. The event was attended by a large number of representatives from trader organizations, industrialists, business leaders, and social figures.
The reception was presided over by Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. In his keynote address, Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri stated that Islam regards trade as both an act of worship and a means of serving humanity. The Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself adopted the profession of trade and set practical examples of integrity, truthfulness, and transparent dealings.
He emphasized that for economic stability, the business community must uphold moral and ethical standards in all commercial dealings. “A society with honest traders has less poverty and greater trust,” he said. Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din further highlighted that the trader community serves as the backbone of the national economy by contributing to its stability, job creation, and the promotion of business activities.
Congratulating the newly elected Lahore Chamber officials, he expressed hope
that they would play an active role in addressing the concerns of traders and industrialists
on a priority basis.
Speakers at the event included Mian Anjum Nisar, President Faheem ur Rehman Sehgal,
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur (Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International), Shahbaz
Aslam (Chairman FRAYA), Adnan Khalid Butt, and Shehzad Ahmad Khan (Senior Vice President,
Awami Tajir Ittehad).
Trader leaders expressed gratitude to Awami Tajir Ittehad Pakistan for organizing the event and praised the vision and thoughts of Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri. Participants remarked that Islam’s guidance on economic systems holds immense relevance and importance in today’s world.
