Prof. Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri was received by Bishop Aldo Berardi at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia, in a visit arranged by the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence and Tolerance during his recent visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Dr. Hassan Qadri was given a warm welcome and a comprehensive tour of the largest Catholic Church in the Arabian Peninsula, where he admired the impressive architectural features of the sacred facility.
Bishop Aldo Berardi expressed deep appreciation for the global humanitarian and scholarly work of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. He noted MQI’s remarkable contributions in promoting peace, social harmony, interfaith dialogue, and community welfare across the world. Dr. Hassan Qadri highlighted the impactful conferences, peace curricula, academic publications, and the dedicated Peace and Counter-Extremism Department at Minhaj University Lahore, all of which continue to strengthen the global narrative against extremism and radicalization.
During their discussion, Dr. Hassan Qadri emphasized the true essence of Islam, rooted in compassion, knowledge, humility, service to humanity, and mutual respect. He revived the merciful teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which promote unity and universal brotherhood.
Both dignitaries reflected on the significance of finding shared values between Islam and Christianity, recognizing that pluralism, mutual respect, and constructive dialogue pave the way for peaceful coexistence. They agreed that freedom of faith, religious tolerance, and respect for diversity are essential pillars of a progressive and harmonious society.
They praised Bahrain’s exemplary model of coexistence — a living reality under the wise leadership of the Kingdom — where interfaith understanding is nurtured and protected.
