Quaid Day: International Qaris Attend Grand Qur’anic Recitation Ceremony

Shaykh ul Islam 75th Birthday Husn e Qirat Dua Ceremony at MQI 2026

To mark the 75th birthday of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, a special gathering of Qur’anic recitation was organized. Renowned Qaris from across the country presented the recitation of the Holy Qur’an in a captivating manner.

Internationally acclaimed reciters, Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali and Qari Noor Muhammad Chishti, mesmerized the audience with their recitations. Another internationally recognized Qari, Khalid Hameed Kazmi, presented an Arabic poetic composition written by Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, while Dr. Sarwar Hussain Naqshbandi delivered its poetic Urdu translation. Students of the Tahfeez-ul-Qur’an Institute also participated by reciting verses of the Holy Qur’an.

On the occasion, a 75-pound cake was cut, and a lavish iftar dinner was arranged. Participants offered prayers for the Shaykh-ul-Islam’s long life, good health, and continued service to religion.

The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri; President Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri; Secretary-General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur; President of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League International Dr. Ghazala Qadri; Ms. Farah Hussain Qadri; Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Sajid Mahmood Shahzad; deputy secretaries-general; departmental directors; and a large number of workers.

In their speeches, the speakers paid tribute to Shaykh-ul-Islam, stating that he is a credible reference for religious service and has rendered exemplary services in the promotion of knowledge. More than 700 books authored by him have been published, representing a remarkable religious, national, and scholarly contribution.

The speakers further noted that under Minhaj Education Society, more than 600 schools have been established in remote areas, where over 150,000 students are currently enrolled. Additionally, through the initiative of “Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan,” a nearly 275-year-old curriculum was reformed, integrating thousands of seminary students into the national educational mainstream.

The event concluded with prayers for the prosperity and well-being of the country. Arrangements for the ceremony were managed by Jawad Hameed, Shehzad Rasool, Hafiz Abid Bashir, and Haji Muhammad Ishaq. The proceedings were conducted by Hafiz Saeed Raza Baghdadi and his team.

Among other distinguished attendees were Dr. Rafiq Najm, Brigadier (R) Umar Hayat, Raja Zahid Mahmood, Mian Zahid Islam, Colonel (R) Khalid Javed, founding members Haji Muhammad Aslam Qadri, Haji Muhammad Farooq Sheikh, Haji Muhammad Ilyas Qadri, Inamullah Khan, Sardar Fatahullah Khan, Hafeezullah Javed, G.M. Malik, Ahmed Nawaz Anjum, Rana Muhammad Shakeel, Muhammad Qasim Sheikh, Dr. Shahid Mahmood, Mian Iftikhar Chaudhry, Chaudhry Muhammad Afzal, and Qari Zeeshan Hanif.
