Dr. Mir Muhammad Asif Akbar Qadri, spokesperson of the United Madaris Council Pakistan and Director General of Nizam-ul-Madaris, while briefing after a council meeting, said that the Balochistan government is sealing madrasas and imposing fines on them, and this practice must stop immediately. He said this is causing concern and unrest among religious boards that support state policies and contribute to promoting peace in Pakistan.

He stated that with the Directorate General of Religious Education (DGRE) and the Societies Act already in place, provincial governments cannot introduce separate laws for registration. Such dual registration laws weaken federal authority and make national state policy regarding religious seminaries controversial.

He further said that it is illegal to deny DGRE-registered madrasas permission to open bank accounts. Likewise, registered madrasas cannot be barred from receiving donations or collecting sacrificial hides. Institutions that comply with the law, are registered with DGRE, and follow prescribed SOPs for education are being harassed.

He emphasized that religious boards will not accept any provincial registration authority in the presence of DGRE. Provincial governments should reconsider the idea of establishing separate authorities.

He added that an important meeting of the United Madaris Council Pakistan will be held on May 5 in Islamabad to determine the future course of action and resolve these issues.

The meeting will be attended by President of Ittehad-ul-Madaris Mufti Muhammad Zubair Faheem, Director General of Kanz-ul-Madaris Mufti Muhammad Adil Attari, Chairman of Wifaq-ul-Madaris Al-Razvia Dr. Mufti Muhammad Karim Khan, Vice President of Majma-ul-Madaris Taleem-ul-Kitab wal-Hikmah Lahore Allama Tauqeer Abbas, leader of Majma-ul-Uloom Al-Islamia Karachi Engineer Allama Muhammad Usman, Director General of Ittehad-ul-Madaris Al-Islamia Karachi Mufti Ikramullah Wahidi, President of the Board of Islamic Education Sheikh Mufti Abdul Latif, Allama Muhammad Nadeem Shams, and others.
