The Purpose of Education Is Not Just Employment but Service to the Nation and Humanity: Shahid Latif

Shahid Latif, President of the Minhajians Forum and Director of Resources and Development at Minhaj-ul-Quran International, addressed scholarship recipients at the College of Shariah and Islamic Sciences. He emphasized that the purpose of education is not merely to secure employment, but to serve the nation and humanity.

He stated that knowledge is a trust that must be used for the betterment of society, moral development, and collective welfare. The special lecture was held at the College of Shariah and Islamic Sciences, attended by a large number of scholarship students and faculty members.

Addressing the students, Shahid Latif remarked that receiving a scholarship is not only an honor but also a significant responsibility. It requires students to utilize their abilities for the progress of the nation. He stressed that in today’s world, students should not limit themselves to earning degrees alone; they must also strengthen their character, ethics, and vision.

He further added that a truly successful person is one who makes their knowledge beneficial for others. Education, he said, nurtures awareness, tolerance, and a spirit of service. The younger generation, he noted, is the guarantor of Pakistan’s bright future.

Shahid Latif also highlighted that the scholarship programs offered by Minhaj-ul-Quran’s educational institutions provide excellent opportunities for talented and deserving students to enhance their academic potential and serve the country and society.

At the end of the lecture, a question-and-answer session was held in which students asked about career counseling, the integration of religious and modern education, and social responsibilities. Shahid Latif responded with well-reasoned and insightful answers, encouraging students to play a positive and constructive role in their practical lives.
