Description:
In this video, Shaykh ul Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri explains the Quranic foundations of the belief in the Finality of Prophethood (Khatm e Nabuwwat) in a thoroughly evidence based and comprehensive manner. He states that the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the first in creation and the last in being commissioned as a Prophet, and that the chain of prophethood has been conclusively and eternally finalized with him ﷺ. After the advent of the Prophet ﷺ, no new revelation can descend, no new prophet can appear, no new law can be introduced, nor can any new divine scripture be revealed. The Quran repeatedly uses expressions such as “min qablik” (before you) and “bayna yadayh” (in front of him/before him) to clarify that revelation was sent only to the Prophets before the Holy Prophet ﷺ or to the Prophet ﷺ himself. After him, no doorway to revelation or prophethood remains. Dr. Tahir ul Qadri presents evidence from Surah al Baqarah, Aal e Imran, an Nisa, al Anam, an Nahl, az Zukhruf, and many other chapters, proving that the Quran does not contain even the slightest indication of any revelation, prophet, or messenger to come after the Holy Prophet ﷺ. He further explains that the word “summa” in the Covenant of the Prophets (Aal e Imran 81) is a definitive proof of the finality and conclusiveness of the Prophet’s ﷺ prophethood.
