Petroleum Price Hike Should Be Withdrawn: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), has expressed concern over the third increase in petroleum product prices within a month. He stated that after the budget, a wave of continuous inflationary shocks is hitting the nation. The slight increase in salaries and pensions for the salaried class has already been neutralized by just one month of inflation.

He added that the Prime Minister had said just yesterday that the common man would be protected from tax burdens, yet the very next day a "petrol bomb" was dropped. Gandapur said that no one is listening to the inflation-hit public, and when helpless citizens vent their frustration, they are immediately arrested.

The PAt leader criticized the government machinery for causing hardship instead of providing relief. He urged the rulers to have mercy on the suffering people and reduce the prices of electricity and petroleum. He demanded that the recent hike be withdrawn, as the high prices of diesel and petrol have made it nearly impossible to sustain businesses and daily life.
