Vice Secretary General of Media Affairs of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Noorullah Siddiqi, along with senior leaders Director PR Shehzad Rasool, Deputy Directors Haji Muhammad Ishaq, and Abdul Hafeez Chaudhry, met with Director General of Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), Mansoor Ahmad Raja, at his office.
During the meeting, they presented him with a copy of the renowned book "Islam and Environmental Pollution" by Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Deputy Chairman of Minhaj University Lahore.
During the discussion, DG PHA emphasized that all religious and social movements and organizations must work together to eliminate environmental pollution and actively participate in tree plantation drives. He assured that PHA would provide all kinds of support and guidance for such initiatives.
He said, “Trees are the guarantee of human survival. To reduce the threats of air pollution and global warming, we must plant more trees and increase forest cover.” He added that Allah Almighty has adorned the earth with trees and gardens, and to further beautify this divine blessing—our earth—we should plant as many trees as possible.
He further stated that in the Holy Qur'an, where Allah mentions the blessings granted to mankind, He has specifically mentioned trees. “For the non-Muslim world, tree plantation may be essential for health and wellness, but for us as Muslims, participating in a plantation campaign is an act of worship.”
On this occasion, Director PR of Minhaj-ul-Quran, Shehzad Rasool, extended an invitation to the DG PHA to attend the inauguration ceremony of Minhaj Youth League’s tree plantation campaign on 12 August, and also invited him to visit Minhaj University Lahore.
