Pakistan’s Survival Lies in New Provinces and Proportional Representation: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur

Pakistan’s survival lies in the creation of more provinces and a system of proportional representation: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur

Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, stated that the survival of Pakistan lies in the creation of more administrative provinces and the adoption of a proportional representation system. He questioned, “What kind of democracy is this where local government institutions are treated as a deadly poison?”

He declared that the time has come to bury this exploitative and corruption-ridden so-called democratic system — a stinking corpse — without a funeral. The money of 250 million people is spent on turning a few major cities like Lahore into lavish beauties, while no one holds anyone accountable. Whether someone wastes 50 billion dollars of the nation or extracts 300 billion from people’s pockets in the blink of an eye, no one questions them. Even monarchies have systems of checks and balances.

The PAT leader further stated that chief ministers and prime ministers purchase hundreds of acres of barren land in remote areas for personal residence and then use national funds to turn it into a paradise, while the rest of the country remains a picture of the Stone Age. This cannot be called a state or a democracy.

He emphasized that by creating new provinces and transferring financial shares directly under the NFC Award, the stalled journey of development will begin equally across the country. He said that for 78 years, the people have been looking towards this system with hope, but in return, they have only received hunger, poverty, and crime.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur recalled that Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri had presented a practical working paper for the creation of new provinces 15 years ago, which is now more relevant and practical than ever. Gandapur said that those in power must show some mercy on the condition of the poor and replace this loot-and-plunder system with a new system — one in which every citizen of Pakistan is respected and secure, where every child can receive quality education and find employment based on merit.

He called for a system where every penny is spent on public welfare. He concluded by saying that nations learn from their own mistakes; no one comes from outside to save them. All our leaders must acknowledge their failures and make bold decisions for a brighter future without hesitation.
