Minhaj-ul-Quran International Lahore chapter held a meeting at the Central Secretariat under the chairmanship of Lahore President Iqbal Hussain Bajwa, where the final schedule and routes for the Rabi-ul-Awwal torch processions were confirmed.
It was decided in the meeting that torch processions would be taken out from more than 100 locations across all towns and union councils of Lahore in celebration of the arrival of Rabi-ul-Awwal. These processions will include participation from Minhaj-ul-Quran, Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council, Minhaj Youth League, Mustafavi Students Movement, Pakistan Awami Tehreek, and other central, provincial, and district-level leaders and members.
The meeting also concluded that traders, workers, farmers, lawyers, students,
and political, social, and religious leaders from the general public will also be
invited to join the processions.
Notable attendees of the meeting included: Lahore Coordinator of Minhaj-ul-Quran,
Nazim Ali Rehmat, Captain (R) Abdul Majeed, Allama Shahid Iqbal Yousafi, Mumtaz
Khan Kachhi, Haji Khalid Mahmood, Allama Ahsan Owais, Ashraf Bhatti, Moeen Ahmad
Siddiqi, and others.
It was announced that:
On August 23, a torch procession will take place in Nishat Colony, Lahore
On August 25, from Mughalpura Chowk to Shalimar Chowk
On August 26, from Manawan to Jallo Mor
On August 27, from Masjid Naqsh Lasani to Chowk Syed Shalamar
On August 30, from Shershah Road to Chah Miran Bazaar
On August 31, in Daroghawala, and further processions will also be held in Gurumangat Gulberg, Jallo Mor Chowk, Akhri Minute Stop, Saddar Cantt, Bhatti Chowk, Gulshan Ravi, Shahdara, Badami Bagh, Raiwind, Township, Chuhang, Manga Mandi, Green Town, Chungi Amar Sidhu, Walton Road, Kahna, Yateem Khana Chowk, Samanabad, and other areas.
These grand torch processions will be led by central leaders of Minhaj-ul-Quran. Additionally, torch processions and Mawlid-un-Nabi (PBUH) gatherings will also be organized in Multan Road, Samanabad, Shahdara, Model Town, Imamia Colony, and Iqbal Town.
In his address, Iqbal Hussain Bajwa said that torch processions and Milad feasts (Ziyafat-e-Milad) will be organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran Lahore. He added that preparations have also begun for the 42nd International Mawlid-un-Nabi (PBUH) Conference at Minar-e-Pakistan, which is expected to see attendance from hundreds of thousands of people from Lahore.
He emphasized that there is no greater joy than the blessed birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Minhaj-ul-Quran will celebrate the 1500th anniversary of the Blessed Birth in a dignified and grand manner. The 42nd International Milad Conference will be made a historic event.
He further said that celebrating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is a command of Allah Almighty in the Qur’an. Allah commands believers to rejoice and give thanks for His blessings—and the Prophet (PBUH) is the greatest blessing of all creation.
He concluded by saying that at the beginning of Rabi-ul-Awwal, Minhaj-ul-Quran Secretariat, Gosha-e-Durood, Jamia Shaykh-ul-Islam, and the residence of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri will be illuminated with lights and special decorations. Minhaj-ul-Quran has promoted love and reverence for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) across all levels of society.
