Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, delivered a keynote address at the University of Haripur on the topic of Islamic Leadership and Management.
The Chairman of the Supreme Council congratulated Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shafiq ur Rehman, Registrar Muhammad Riaz, and the entire university administration for organizing the seminar.
Speaking on the subject of Islamic Leadership, he said that it is one of his favorite topics and that he has also authored a book titled “The Divine Alchemy of Leadership.” In this book, he has established the concept of leadership in the light of Qur’anic verses and elaborated on the essential qualities required to become a true leader.
He further said that the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the ultimate role model for all humanity. In his book, he has explained the principles of Qur’anic management, which serve as a source of guidance for anyone aspiring to become an effective leader. He also mentioned that he has written a separate comprehensive book on Surah Al-Kahf, in which he discussed the story of Ashab-e-Kahf (the Companions of the Cave) and other historical narratives from the perspective of leadership.
Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri explained that management essentially means organizing scattered resources and ensuring the completion of tasks. In the light of Islam, progressing towards one’s goal in an organized and disciplined manner is what he calls Qur’anic Management. A true manager plans not only for today but also for the future. He emphasized that a real leader is a servant of the nation—he never forgets his people even in times of success. A leader does not make decisions without consultation, as the Qur’an commands mutual consultation (Shura).
Dr. Hassan Qadri added that a true leader never attributes success to his own personal ability but regards it as a blessing from Allah Almighty. A genuine leader gives preference to the needs of others over his own, makes decisions keeping in view the circumstances of the nation, and treats his position as a trust (Amanah)—becoming the guardian of his people. One who cannot listen to diverse opinions or think with a calm and balanced mind cannot be a leader. He concluded that when all these qualities come together, they give rise to a strong and successful state.
The seminar was attended by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shafiq ur Rehman, Registrar Muhammad Riaz, Assistant Professor Shiraz Ahmad, Deputy Nazim Tanzimat Hazara Zone Allama Javed Qadri, Central President of Mustafavi Students Movement Sheikh Farhan Aziz, Haji Ghulam Shabbir, Dr. Jahangir Abbasi, Qazi Faiz-ul-Islam, Bilal Shah, as well as faculty members of the Department of Management, University of Haripur, and a large number of students
