Addressing the Meraj-un-Nabi ﷺ Conference and the Majlis-e-Khatm as-Salawat ‘ala an-Nabi ﷺ, held at the Central Secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran in Model Town, Lahore, Dr. Mufti Muhammad Intikhab Noori, Member of the Council of Islamic Ideology, stated that he had come to this gathering to relearn the very lesson he had learned two decades ago at Minhaj University Lahore. He remarked that Minhaj-ul-Quran is not merely an organization, but a school of thought—an expansive and comprehensive intellectual vision.
Dr. Mufti Intikhab Noori said that regarding the event of Meraj (the Ascension), Allah Almighty Himself has described the exalted status of the Holy Prophet ﷺ. The Noble Prophet ﷺ was granted the Divine Vision (Didar-e-Ilahi) during his blessed physical life, and this supreme honor was bestowed exclusively upon the sacred person of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
He explained with an example that when an individual receives an honor from a state or a family at the worldly level, that honor is not limited to the individual alone but becomes a source of pride for the entire state or family. Similarly, the honor of Meraj is a source of pride and distinction for the entire universe, and especially for the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The magnificent journey from Masjid al-Haram to Masjid al-Aqsa, then beyond—from the realms of space to the domain beyond space—and ultimately to the Divine Presence, was granted only to the Beloved Prophet ﷺ.
Dr. Mufti Intikhab Noori further stated that when the Holy Prophet ﷺ passed by the blessed grave of Prophet Musa (Moses) عليه السلام, Prophet Musa عليه السلام stood in reverence and offered salutations and blessings upon him. When the Holy Prophet ﷺ proceeded beyond Sidrat al-Muntaha, he was alone; even Archangel Jibril (Gabriel) عليه السلام could not go beyond that point. This, he said, was the pinnacle of the greatness and exalted status of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
