Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri Awarded UNESCO Chair for Peace, Education, and Dialogue

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the founder and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has congratulated Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri on his appointment as UNESCO Chair for Peace, Education, and Intercultural Dialogue.

In his congratulatory message, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri stated that the appointment of Dr. Hussain is an honor for Pakistan and a recognition of the global services rendered by Minhaj-ul-Quran in the promotion of knowledge and peace. He further remarked that this achievement is not merely an individual distinction; rather, it represents an international acknowledgment of the sustained efforts made by Minhaj-ul-Quran International and Minhaj University Lahore in advancing knowledge and peace worldwide.

Shaykh-ul-Islam said that for the past five decades, MQI has consistently worked with sincerity to promote interfaith harmony, dialogue, and coexistence. He expressed confidence that, God willing, these national, religious, and international services will further expand through the platforms of Minhaj-ul-Quran and Minhaj University.

Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, in his message of congratulations, described the Chair as a historic honor for Pakistan. He stated that it serves as international recognition of Minhaj University Lahore’s sustained contributions in peace education, counter-terrorism research, and interfaith harmony.

Secretary-General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur also termed it a historic achievement, saying that it is a matter of pride not only for Minhaj University Lahore and Minhaj-ul-Quran International but also for the entire nation. He added that this distinction reflects decades of sincere efforts carried out under the visionary leadership of Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri through the platforms of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and Minhaj University Lahore.
