A distinguished delegation from the World Bank Headquarters, Washington D.C. visited Minhaj University Lahore and held a productive meeting with Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Deputy Chairman Board of Governors, Minhaj University Lahore, and CEO, Al-Mawakhat Microfinance Company Limited.
The delegation was led by Mr. Frederico Ferreira Fonseca Pedroso and included Ms. Rubina Geizla Quamber and Mr. Muhammad Bilal Paracha. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on higher education, sustainable development, research collaboration, and opportunities for future academic and institutional cooperation. Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri highlighted the role of academia in promoting innovation, community development, and socially responsible leadership while sharing the vision and contributions of Minhaj University Lahore in advancing quality education and research. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Khurram Shahzad, Registrar MUL; Mr. Faisal Hussain Mashadi, Managing Director MWF UK; Dr. Yasir Ali Khan, Head, School of Political Science & History, MUL; and Mr. Abdur Rehman Malik, Treasurer MUL. The visiting delegation appreciated the university’s academic environment, research initiatives, and community-oriented approach toward education and development. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri presented his authored books to the distinguished guests and exchanged commemorative souvenirs as a token of appreciation and goodwill. The delegation also toured various academic departments, research centers, and administrative facilities of Minhaj University Lahore, including the Ibn Sina Digital Robotic Library & Resource Center, Shaykh-ul-Islam Institute of Spiritual Studies, and state-of-the-art laboratories across different faculties. The guests highly appreciated the university’s modern infrastructure, academic environment, and continued commitment to innovation, research, and quality education. During their visit, the delegation also visited the office of Al-Mawakhat Microfinance Company Limited, where they were briefed about the organization’s mission, outreach, and ongoing efforts toward financial inclusion and social empowerment.
