Event: Shahadat e Imam e Hussain Conference
Place: Chungi Amar Sidhu, Lahore
Dated: June 5, 1995
Description:
Shaykh ul Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri explains in this video the true philosophy of martyrdom and the reality of the eternal life granted to martyrs in the light of the Holy Quran. Referring to the verses of Surah Al Baqarah, he clarifies that considering those who sacrifice their lives in the way of Allah as dead or even assuming them to be dead is a result of limited human perception, because they are not only alive with their Lord but are also specially provided for by Him. The lecture further explains that the literal meaning of the word “Shaheed” (martyr) is one who is present and witnessing. While an ordinary deceased person’s soul is received by an angel, the soul of a martyr is welcomed by thousands of angels who descend and present it before Allah with honor and distinction. Finally, it is emphasized that the event of Karbala is not merely a historical incident but a symbol of the preservation and survival of the religion of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The martyrdom of Imam Husayn (A.S) represents an eternal protest against falsehood and the Yazidi system, inspiring believers in every age to stand for truth, speak out against oppression, and make sacrifices in the cause of justice and righteousness.
