Address at the introductory ceremony of his book Surah Yusuf, organized by Minhajians Forum

Chairman Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, addressed the introductory ceremony of his book Surah Yusuf, organized by the Minhajians Forum. He said that every era produces a “Yusuf,” but true education and character development require the compassion, wisdom, and foresight of a “Yaqub.”
He said that every phase of the life of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph, peace be upon him) offers profound lessons in leadership and character building. Whether in the darkness of the well, the marketplaces of Egypt, the prison cell, or the halls of power, Prophet Yusuf (AS) remained a model of patience, gratitude, perseverance, and exemplary character. These qualities, he noted, form the foundation of successful and principled leadership.
Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri further remarked that a leader is not someone who merely considers himself a leader; rather, a true leader is one who develops thousands of new leaders and dedicates his life to the service of humanity. A genuine leader continues to plan for the future even in the most challenging circumstances and seeks avenues for the reform and welfare of society despite limited resources. He observed that Prophet Yusuf (AS), even while imprisoned, continued his mission of social reform and leadership development. He also provided guidance on economic, administrative, and social systems.
According to Dr. Hassan Qadri, Prophet Yusuf (AS) introduced practical principles relating to tax reforms, data management, storage systems, agricultural development, water resource management, warehousing, logistics, and financial planning—principles that remain relevant and exemplary even today.
The Chairman Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International stated that the true beauty of leadership lies in humility, forgiveness, justice, and service to humanity, even when one possesses authority and power. He paid tribute to Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, saying that he has devoted his entire life to the promotion of knowledge, peace, moderation, character building, and leadership development, enlightening millions through education and moral guidance.
Concluding his address, Dr. Hassan Qadri said that a true leader is one who transcends personal interests and establishes institutions, systems, and generations capable of guiding humanity in the future. Authentic leadership, he emphasized, is born of sacrifice, patience, steadfastness, vision, and a sincere commitment to serving humanity. The noble life of Prophet Yusuf (AS) presents a comprehensive model of leadership development, management, perseverance, wisdom, and social reform.
