Hazrat Ali (RA) was a Great Interpreter of the Qur’an and Hadith: Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri

Founder and Patron-in-Chief of Minhaj-ul-Qur’an International, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, in his statement on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Ameer-ul-Momineen Syedna Mawla Ali (Karram Allahu Wajhahu Al-Kareem), said that Hazrat Ali (RA) provided humanity with an eternal standard of leadership by linking knowledge with practice, bravery with morality, and authority with justice and service— a guiding light for all times to come.

He stated that Hazrat Ali (RA) was one of the greatest interpreters of the Qur’an and Hadith, and that his teachings remain a radiant lamp for humanity. Hazrat Ali (RA) was a comprehensive and perfect embodiment of knowledge, wisdom, courage, justice, and piety, whose noble personality strengthened the intellectual foundations of Islamic civilization. His teachings continue to serve as a beacon for human welfare and social reform even today.

On this occasion, a cake-cutting ceremony was held at the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Qur’an to mark the birth anniversary of Hazrat Ali (Karram Allahu Wajhahu). Among those present were Colonel (R) Khalid Javed, Noorullah Siddiqui, Qazi Faiz-ul-Islam, Jawad Hamid, Allama Latif Madani, Hafiz-ur-Rehman, Sohail Ahmed Raza, Saeed Ahmed, Tayyab Zia, and other leaders.

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that more than twelve thousand blessed Ahadith have been narrated on the authority of Ameer-ul-Momineen Hazrat Ali (RA), which is a clear proof of his exalted scholarly status and profound understanding of religion. He added that a comprehensive research work titled Musnad al-Imam Ali, comprising these narrations, is currently in preparation, and that Allah Almighty has granted Minhaj-ul-Qur’an the honor of carrying out this scholarly and research-based service.

He further stated that Hazrat Ali (Karram Allahu Wajhahu Al-Kareem) was the shining sun among the Ahl-e-Bayt (the Purified Household) and a great interpreter of the Qur’an and Hadith. His entire life was devoted to promoting love, peace, brotherhood, and unity among the Ummah. Islamic history is replete with inspiring accounts of his unparalleled courage, bravery, and faith, while every moment of his life offers priceless lessons of guidance and righteousness.

Shaykh-ul-Islam said that to express the greatness of Hazrat Ali (RA), it suffices to recall the occasion when the Holy Prophet ﷺ, holding his blessed hand, declared: “Whomsoever I am his master, Ali is his master. O Allah! Love those who love Ali and be an enemy to those who show enmity towards Ali.” This Prophetic declaration ﷺ is enough to highlight the unique status and rank of Hazrat Ali (RA).

He added that until his last breath, Hazrat Ali (Karram Allahu Wajhahu Al-Kareem) continued to play a vital role in safeguarding the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ and the Ummah of Muhammad ﷺ from discord, turmoil, and mutual اختلافات. His sayings, commands, and words of wisdom will continue until the Day of Judgment to provide peace to hearts and intellectual guidance to all seekers of knowledge, wisdom, and truth.

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri concluded by saying that the true purpose of commemorating the birth anniversary of Hazrat Ali (RA) is to incorporate his teachings into our individual and collective lives, and to build a peaceful, just, and truly Muhammadan society in the light of knowledge and wisdom.
